Student Welfare

Student Convenor – Craig Harrison, Senior Research Officer

As the student convenor within the Institute I chair a student welfare committee, consisting of research staff and students (elected by the student body), whose job it is to help the students in the Institute. The role of the student welfare committee is to support students in both research and non-research related matters, by providing advice and encouragement throughout their time at the Institute. At the beginning of the year all students will be introduced to a mentor, who can provide guidance in nonscientific matters. The SWC aims to foster the best possible environment for our students to do their research and get their degrees.
