Reproductive Hormones
About this Laboratory
The main interests of this laboratory relate to the role hormones play in biological processes particularly those related to reproduction. Such studies relate to the interrelationships between the ovary, testis and pituitary in the hormonal regulation of fertility and the changes with age, for example through menopause. Other studies relate to the effects of hormone overstimulation of the ovary in women undergoing IVF.

Current Research
Understanding Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome - The goal of this project is to identify a panel of blood proteins using proteomic methods that are predictive of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
Endocrinology of menopausal transition - We are studying the endocrine features of individual ovulatory and anovulatory cycles in women in late reproductive age and during stages of the menopause transition. We propose a classification of menstrual cycles, suggestive of progressively impaired ovarian function. We aim to assess possible markers of such impairment.
