Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) has been established to foster a centre for research into ovarian cancer - a disease which in Australia claims the life of one woman every 10 hours and often remains undetected until in its advanced stages. The centre is a collaboration of the Monash Medical Centre and Prince Henry’s Institute of Medical research and is headed by Gynaecological Oncologist Associate Professor Tom Jobling.
While having a hand in international clinical trials, the Foundation’s aim is to encourage basic scientific research into the molecular genetics of ovarian cancer. Significant progress is being made into the understanding of the biological and overall management of ovarian cancer, however this can only be continued with support from the community and the corporate world.
