Prince Henry's scientist to attend neuroscience initiative
16 March 2005
Dr Wah Chin Boon from Prince Henry's Sex Hormone Biology group, will be one of 12 scientists from Australia and New Zealand attending a new research and training program in the US, the inaugural Australian Advanced Neurosciences Research Initiative.
The research initiative will enable small groups to work with leading Australian and overseas scientists to develop skills in new disciplines and neuroscience experimental techniques. Lectures and laboratory sessions will be held during the three-week course, from 3 - 22 April.
Dr Boon, who is researching the effect of estrogen on the brain, said the initiative would give her the chance to learn new skills, and she hoped to use it to establish research collaborations with students and instructors from around Australia.
