This group is aiming to clarify the fundamental function of the endocrine cells with regards to intracellular events involved in hormone release. Our studies closely look at two hormone systems, Growth Hormone (GH) and its regulation in view of GH deficiency in the elderly and obese populations and the therapeutic use of GH secretagogues, and Insulin secretion in view of the ever-increasing rate of diabetes in Australia and also in developing countries.
